The Symposium

2008, an exceptional 10th edition

Occurring every year in the “Palais des Festivals et des Congrès of Cannes”, the symposium gathers every year more than 3 000 participants from 78 different nationalities, all actions taken into account, including many lecturers, congressmen and exhibitors.

Since it was created in 1999, the Cannes Water Symposium has been an international platform of meeting and exchange between political decision-makers, professionals and academics, all of them being specialized in the field of water, environment and sustainable development.

The Cannes Water Symposium deals about several different activities such as scientific workshops, vocational training seminars, conferences, business meetings, visit of facilities, general public animations and evening of official reception for professionals.

The UNESCO, the United Nations University, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the City of Cannes – which are the co-founders of the Mediterranean UNITWIN, UNESCO and United Nations network on the water resources, sustainable development and peace – are participating to our international event.

For its 10th birthday, the Cannes Water Symposium 2008 is taking an exceptional dimension. For this occasion, the five continents will be welcomed as special guests in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès of Cannes – the World Water Capital from 24th to 26th of June 2008.
